Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This meme was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Each week we will post a new Top Ten list complete with one of our bloggers’ answers. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND post a comment on our post with a link to your Top Ten Tuesday post to share with us and all those who are participating. If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week's topic is a fun one! My reviews for some of the books are linked, just click the title!
Top Ten Book Endings That Left Me With My Mouth Hanging Open
- Divergent by Veronica Roth - I want to read Insurgent RIGHT NOW!! The ending of Divergent leaves you with all these questions about the fate of the characters, that left me wanting moremoremore!
- Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins - What is going to happen to Sophie, and is Archer alive? And what will happen to all the prodigium? Questions, questions, questions, that will hopefully be answered in Spell Bound.
- Delirium by Lauren Oliver - This ending is so heartbreaking and tragic but at the same time so hopeful! I loved it and hated it at the same time. The entire book I felt like I was living Lena's life, so the ending was a big punch to the stomach. Cannot wait for Pandemonium!
- The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson - I didn't see this ending coming AT ALL! It was a complete shock, and the way it drops just as you find out the juicy tidbit is EVIL!!! Sometimes I hate reading ARCS because that means you have to wait even LONGER for the next book!
- Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins - This ending wasn't a cliffhanger, but it was the perfect ending to a perfect story. Romantic, beautiful, and so satisfying! This is the way stand-alones need to end their books!
- The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan - If you are a Percy Jackson fanatic like me you HAVE to read The Lost Hero! You learn some crazy stuff that completely changes the mythology of this series, and your thinking of Greek gods! Loved it, can't wait for The Son of Neptune (Which came out today!!)
- Eon by Alison Goodman - Eon left off in the worst way! I wasn't sure who was alive or who was dead or what was going to happen to the kingdom! It was crazy! Definitely made me want to read Eona.
- Waterfall by Lisa T. Bergren - I loved this book, and I hated the ending! It's so romantic and engulfing and then bam! it's over. I need to get my hands on Torrent asap, because I need to know what happens!!!
- Looking for Alaska by John Green - I've read this book 10 times and the ending is still the best. I feel for Miles, and the emotions he's going through are wrapped up in a realistic way. I'm not left wanting more, which is what I want in a stand-alone novel. I'll always keep the story of Miles and Alaska in my heart.
- Across the Universe by Beth Revis - GAH! This ending is killer! KILLER! And she originally meant for this to be a stand-alone. I would have died!!!! I can't wait for A Million Suns, especially since the BIG question at the end of AtU is answered (not fully), in the first couple chapters (I know this because I got to be at a reading!). Can't wait!
What are your Top Ten Endings?
Ahhh, Looking for Alaska! I forgot about that one for my list. The middle event is was really made my jaw drop, but the book was completely wonderful. One of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about Divergent. I'm DYING to read Insurgent because I want to know what's going to happen now!
ReplyDeleteAnd I loved The Lost Hero as well! Got my hands on a copy of Son of Neptune today so I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to reading that :)
